Let it Jingle – FREIRAD Anniversary Jingle Contest

25 Years of Media, Perspective- and Language Diversity in Tyrol. FREIRAD is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2027—and that includes a special anniversary jingle! Will it be your jingle?

What do 25 years of media diversity sound like? What sounds does a quarter-century of radio history make? What does language diversity in Tyrol sound like?

There are no limits to your creativity, so give it a try—come up with experimental, loud, critical, uncomfortable, unusual, or playful ideas. In keeping with FREIRAD’s multilingual spirit, the jingles are also welcome to include different languages.

A diverse jury with a range of expertise will select the anniversary jingle from all the submissions. It will be presented on World Radio Day, FREIRAD’s annual open house on February 13, 2027, and will air regularly throughout the anniversary year.

Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. Only submissions that meet all requirements will be considered by the jury. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at any time at jingle@freirad.at.

By submitting your jingle, you fully accept these terms and conditions. You also confirm that your submission does not infringe on the rights of third parties—in particular, copyrights.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Minors may only participate with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian; please upload this consent form if applicable. Artificial intelligence may not be used to create the jingle or any of its content.

General Conditions

The anniversary jingle must include a message about FREIRAD’s 25th anniversary, e.g.: “FREIRAD is celebrating its birthday! 25 years of media diversity in Tyrol—make your voice heard, too!”
Only use audio material you have created yourself.
No copyrighted content, well-known melodies, or sound sequences may be used or imitated. Sampling of copyrighted material is also not permitted.
The total length of the jingle must be exactly 58 seconds.
Jingles that strongly resemble those of commercial radio stations are not welcome.
Only one jingle may be submitted per person; jury members, board members, and FREIRAD team members not eligible to participate
All content in the jingle must comply with the Charta des Freien Rundfunk Österreichs

Technical Specifications

Format: OGG (192 kbit/s)
Audio: Mono track, level between -12 and -6 dB
File naming: Please name the file so that it includes your name, e.g., Jingle_Martin(a)_Muster.ogg

Checklist – What must be included in the submission:

Anniversary jingle file in OGG format.
Text document containing all text segments included in the jingle, including a list of all languages used

Data Use and Protection

By submitting your entry, you agree that your jingle may be published under a Creative Commons license, among others including in the FREIRAD radio program, on the association’s website, on the Cultural Broadcasting Archive, and on social media channels. You also consent to any editorial changes made by FREIRAD (e.g., shortening the jingle for other formats).

The personal data you provide will only be processed and exclusively used in the context of the jingle contest.
